Hair Testing

Why Hair Testing?

Dug and drug metabolite(s) are incorporated into the hair matrix from the bloodstream following drug use.

How does hair testing work?

Hair drug testing detects drigs that are embedded in the hair. A hair drug test with initial screen and confirmation requires 100 milligrams of hair 90 to 120 strands); therefore, a 1.5 inch hir sample detects drug use up to 90 days prior to teting. This is a convenient collection process that can be performed almost anywhere.

DNA Testing

We use a 'buccal swab' to collect sample DNA from the inside of the participant's cheek. The swab is similar to a cotton swab with a consistent surface for the cheek cells  to adhere to. This is a relatively quick procedure and completely painless.

DNA Testing can achieve results for:

  • Paternity
  • Family Retlationships (without father)
  • Immigration
  • Forensics

Observed Collections

Observed collections are administered for various reasons ranging from re-collection due to a previous potentially adulterated/tampered with urine specimen collection to court-ordered observed collection due to a program (such as a diversion program).

As an employer, you must direct an immediate collection under direct observation with no advance notice to the employee if:

  1. The donor has presented, at this or a previous collection, a urine specimen that the HHS-certified laboratory reported as being substituted, adulterated, or invalid to the MRO and the MRO reported to the licensee or other entity that there is no adequate medical explanation for the result
  2. The donor has presented, at this collection, a urine specimen that falls outside the required temperature range
  3. The collector observes conduct clearly and unequivocally indicating an attempt to dilute, substitute, or adulterate the specimen; and
  4. As an employer, you must direct a collection under direct observation of an employee if the drug test is a return-to-duty test or a follow-up test from a previous positive result.

Privacy Matters

Regardless of the reason AdvantageCare, Inc. will administer the observed collection by a certified collector (of the same gender) in a discreet and private manor.
